Secure Firm Portal FAQs
How do I upload a file?
Click the "FileVault" link to get into the application. You may then either click the blue "Upload" buton above the folder tree to browse for multiple files, or simply drag and drop files onto the white "FileVault" area of the page. This will place your files into a queue to be uploaded, located in the lower right-hand corner of your screen.
If you would like to add more files, click the "Add Files" button at the top of the cue, or simply drag and drop additional files onto the cue itself. You may edit additional details for the individual files by click the "Edit Details" button below their filename in the queue. When all of your files have been added/edited, you may upload them into the currently selected folder by clicking the "Upload All" buton at the top of the queue.
How do I download a file?
Click the "FileVault" link to get into the application. Then, navigate to the location of the file using the folder tree on the left, and the file grid on the right. Simply click the name of the file to download.
Also, when a file is uploaded into your folder, this action will be shown in the Activity Log on your dashboard, as well as the activity log page. You may simply click the file name in this Acitvity Log entry to download the file.
How do I know when a file has been uploaded to me?
When a file has been uploaded to your folder, an email will be sent to you. You may simply click the link in the email to log in and retrieve your file. You will also see a record of the file being uploaded in your activity log, where you may click the file name to download the file.
How do I change my password?
To change your password, click on your name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Then, switch to the "Login Information" tab. Simply click the "Change" button to select a new password.
How do I cancel my membership with this firm?
To cancel your portal membership with this firm, click your name in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. This will take you to your preferences and account information. Click the "Cancel Firm Membership" button in the upper right-hand corner of the white "User Profile" screen. You will be presented with a list of warnings about what will happen to your data once you have canceled. Please read these carefully and click the checkboxes to accept them. Press the blue "Cancel Firm Membership" button beneath to continue.
What happens when I cancel my membership?
Upon canceling your membership, all of your data, including documents in your "My Documents" folder and sub-folders thereof, as well as your personal account information, will be deleted irretrievably. However, if you have a Portal account with another company, your data with that company will remain intact unless you cancel your membership with them as well.
